June 14 Weekend Service at SouthBrook
Hello SouthBrook,
It’s time for the church to get in the room together! These have been long months of having to navigate grief and fear and trauma while staying isolated. But we also believe these have been critical days in the life of the church as we renew our commitment to be an expression of the love of Jesus in Dayton.
Nothing about the world feels the same right now and our gatherings have to reflect that for a little bit longer.
We’re going to be in a series about all the “one another” passages in the New Testament and how great our call is to love and care for one another. So as we talk about that, it becomes even more important that we practice that.
We have been listening to the experts on all the best practices for how to be together responsibly. We are committed to creating an environment that meets government recommendations for safety. We will be doing our part to keep the building sanitized and safe. We are also asking the whole church to do our part in maintaining social distancing.
We all know that this situation is evolving and new information becomes available all the time. We will continue to adapt based on what we hear from local, state, and federal government.
Here Are The Details:
We will have one service at SouthBrook on June 14 at 10am.
There will be no SBK, HS or MS. (As you probably already know, it’s near impossible to get kids to practice social distancing.)
We will need people to RSVP for this service due to limited capacity. Please help us keep an accurate count of adults and children who plan to attend. RSVP by Wednesday, June 10th. When we reach capacity, we will likely have to close the building to keep everyone properly spaced.
For now, please bring your own chair. Feel free to get creative here.
What We’re Doing:
Masks are encouraged. We see this as a way to protect each other through this but we understand some may have health reasons or other limitations to wearing masks.
We will continue our practice of frequently cleaning and disinfecting all the high-touch areas around the building.
There will be additional hand sanitizing stations available.
No offering bag will be passed. There will be designated offering boxes available, but we also encourage you to continue to use push pay.
No coffee provided. Bring your own Brew. (We know this is a loss but it’s not forever.)
No communion provided. We encourage you to continue this practice with your families and friends in creative ways.
How You Can Help:
Please make the best decisions for your own health and for others:
If you don’t feel well or have health concerns, or are caring for someone who may be at risk, please consider staying at home. You can continue to join us online on Facebook at 5:30pm Saturdays or 10:00am on Sundays.
Masks are encouraged.
Sanitize your hands by washing or using hand sanitizer.
Maintain six feet between you and other people both inside and outside. Think of this as one of those middle school dances where you are supposed to leave plenty of room for the Holy Spirit.
Please remember to RSVP by Wednesday! We are looking forward to seeing you next Sunday.
