"The Reality of Loss" | It’s Not Just You

Title: The Reality of Loss

September 27

Teacher: Charlie McMahan

SEPT 26/27 GROUP QUESTIONS:

1 Again, whether Paces, Paths, Possessions, Places or People, what have you lost in 2020?

2 What have you lost in the past that you have never fully grieved but now you can connect your present sadness to this long-ago loss?

3 What would it mean to bring your grief to the Christ who weeps with us and fully allow him to enter into your grief with you?

4 “Stuffing grows sadness. Self-medicating grows misery. Grieving fully is good.” What erroneous and harmful ideas of grief have you succumbed to in the past?

5 “Jesus wept.” So simple. The most powerful person who ever lived, the One who could say to a storm, “Be quiet!” and it was, a tough-and-tender carpenter who hung around with hardened fishermen, wept openly in public. What does that say to us? What does that mean to you?
